What is a Trusted Contact Person?

What is a Trusted Contact Person?

A Trusted Contact Person is someone you choose – a family member, friend, or someone you know well, who we can contact if we’re ever concerned about your wellbeing or the security of your account.

When We May Contact Them

We will only reach out to them if we have serious concerns, such as:

  • Possible financial abuse
  • Difficulty reaching you or an authorised third party
  • Needing to confirm your contact details
  • Clarifying information about your health status
  • Confirming the identity of a legal guardian, executor or trustee

They cannot see your account, access your money, or make decisions for you. Their role is simply to help keep you safe and give you peace of mind.

Your Consent

With your written consent, and the written consent of the Trusted Contact Person, we will:

  • Record their name and contact details securely.
  • Contact them only under the circumstances outlined above.
  • Share only specific relevant information.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Update or withdraw your consent at any time by notifying us in writing.
  • Change your Trusted Contact Person by notifying us in writing.
  • Request a copy of the information we hold about your Trusted Contact Person.
